Te Reo
28/10/21
We have been learning our kupu o te ra which is a Maori word each day. For example;
Peke kura - school bag
Pene rakau - pencil
Papa takaro - playground
Pahi - school bus
Poro - ball
We were also learning how to play wharewhare kemu to learn māori words for fruit.
Aporo - apple
Ropae - strawberry
Panana - banana
Karoti - carrot
Painaporo - pineapple
We have made some pukapuka and wrote the name of our fruit and veges and where they came from. Ko wai ahau ko aproro ahau. No hea au No rakau ahau. We also made wheku masks when it was Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori week.
Ko te whiringa-a -nuku tenei marama means the month is October.
